The Blues will host the Champions League finalists in the Premier League looking to bolster their slim chances of a top-four finish.
The west London side are in fifth spot in the Premier League table and six points adrift of Liverpool FC in the race to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
The Reds have drawn three of their last four Premier League games to leave the door ajar for Chelsea FC to make a late push for a top-four finish.
Liverpool FC are in third spot and have a six-point cushion but Jurgen Klopp’s side have played one game more than Chelsea FC.
Indeed, the Merseyside outfit’s trip to Chelsea FC is their penultimate fixture of the 2017-18 season ahead of a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes the Reds are more likely to claim three points at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
“Champions League finalists Liverpool have won both games at Stamford Bridge since Jurgen Klopp took over the reins at Anfield and if there is to be a winner on Sunday, I think the Reds can edge what promises to be another hugely entertaining clash,” Owen told BetVictor.
“The Blues know they must win to have any realistic chance of a top four finish although a win for Liverpool at home to Brighton on the final day would ensure a top four finish such is their superior goal difference.”
Liverpool FC have won on their last two visits to Stamford Bridge thanks to a 3-1 win 2015 before a 2-1 victory in 2016.
The Reds will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
