Cesc Fabregas is confident Chelsea FC can beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final if the Blues players can carry out Antonio Conte’s instructions at Wembley.

The Spain international is looking to win the FA Cup for the second time in his career after the midfielder was part of the Arsenal team that beat Manchester United on penalties back in 2005.

Fabregas has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup since his move to Chelsea FC in 2014 but the Blues lost 2-1 to his former club Arsenal in the FA Cup showpiece last season.

The 31-year-old has struggled to find consistent form this season like most of his Chelsea FC team-mates and the Blues finished in sixth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a Champions League spot.

Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in their Premier League meeting last autumn before a 2-1 loss to the Red Devils at Old Trafford in their most recent meeting back in February.

Speaking to the club’s website about their upcoming clash against Manchester United, Fabregas urged his colleagues to follow out Conte’s instructions to a tee.

“We want to win,” Fabregas said. “In football, when you win you are the best and when you lose they doubt you, it’s as simple as that. As much as we talk about the beautiful game, which I love, nowadays it’s about winning on the day. People then forget if you did it in a good way, a lucky way, a defensive way, people forget about that unfortunately.

“We just have to play how we’ve been playing in the last few games, obviously not the last two games, even though against Huddersfield we were very unlucky, and try to do what we’ve been doing.

“In the last two years we’ve been working on the same things with Antonio so we know exactly what we want to do because we repeat it every single day, what he wants from us, so it should always be in our head. We need to take that onto the pitch on Saturday and let’s hope we can get the victory.”

Chelsea FC lost 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 this term.
