Paul Scholes names difference between Chelsea FC and Man United
The Man United legend lavishes praise on Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard after the FA Cup final
Paul Scholes believes Eden Hazard was the difference between Chelsea FC and Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils were looking to win their third trophy in two seasons under Jose Mourinho after he replaced Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford hot seat in May 2016.
Manchester United got their hands on the Europa League and the League Cup last season despite finishing in sixth spot in the table.
Chelsea FC, meanwhile, won the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge after finishing seven points clear at the top of the table.
Both Premier League clubs have struggled in the 2017-18 season, although Manchester United managed to secure second spot and Champions Leaguer football unlike Chelsea FC.
However, Hazard ensured that the Blues ended the season with silverware after he won a first-half penalty and cooly slotted his finish past David De Gea.
The Chelsea FC number 10 looked like a constant threat throughout the FA Cup final and Manchester United legend Scholes felt Hazard was the difference between the two teams.
“The big difference between the two sides was Eden Hazard,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“He produced the special moment – the special touch, the run to the goal and a great penalty. That’s something United have lacked, a real match-winner in their team. Not just today, but all season.”
Hazard has been linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
