Mark Lawrenson is tipping Chelsea FC to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

The Blues are looking to end a disappointing season on a positive note following a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League table.

The west London side are set to miss out on Champions League football for the second time in three seasons to condemn the Blues to the Europa League next term.

Chelsea FC lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final last season to miss out on the double after Conte’s side finished seven points ahead of Spurs in the Premier League title race.

The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last autumn before the Red Devils eased to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC in February.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to edge to victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Wembley.

“I am not expecting a thrilling encounter, mind you, I have a feeling this is going to be quite a dour game,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“That would suit Mourinho in lots of ways, but I just think Chelsea are going to somehow going to come out on top, and allow Conte to say goodbye the way he wants to.”

Chelsea FC lost 3-0 to Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend to end the season on a disappointing note.

The Blues lost 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 earlier this season.
