Bryan Robson is hoping Alexis Sanchez can continue his good record at Wembley in Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Manchester United will look to end the 2017-18 season on a positive note after a mixed second year under Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table but 19 points adrift of champions Manchester City.

Manchester United made premature exits in the Champions League and the League Cup to leave the FA Cup as Mourinho’s only chance of silverware this term.

Sanchez moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in the January transfer window having won two FA Cups and two Community Shields in three and a half seasons at the Gunners.

The South American has struggled to recreate his Arsenal form in a Manchester United shirt so far, although he did score in a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup last four.

Former Manchester United star Robson is hopeful Sanchez can continue his excellent record at Wembley when Manchester United take on Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon.

“The most important player is the one who is going to give Chelsea problems,” Robson told Man United’s website.

“Now, it’s whether that’s going to be Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba or Romelu Lukaku, if he’s fit.

“They’ve all got a role in trying to create and score a goal for us. But I’m hoping Alexis can keep up his good record at Wembley. He’s also had great success in this competition with Arsenal as well.

“Hopefully, it’s his favourite competition and he can go on to put in a great performance to help win us the game.”

Manchester United finished in second place ahead of Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down in 2013.
