Michy Batshuayi sends clear message to Chelsea FC about his future
Michy Batshuayi insists he has not yet made a decision about his future at Chelsea FC
Michy Batshuayi has insisted that he will not make a decision about his future at Chelsea FC until after the World Cup.
The Belgian striker was deemed to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge midway through the season and he was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
The forward was in impressive form for the German side and he scored seven goals and made one assist in 10 league games for the Bundesliga outfit.
His loan spell was cut short by injury as he had to return to Chelsea FC for treatment, but there had been talk about the striker moving to Dortmund on a permanent deal.
Now, Batshuayi has insisted that he would be happy to play for either Chelsea FC or Dortmund next season – but says that his full focus is now on the World Cup with Belgium.
Batshuayi is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “Dortmund was a great experience for me. They welcomed me very warmly. I was in a good environment and you could see that on the pitch.
“It was a while since I had played so much. I can’t remember being allowed to play two games in a row at Chelsea. It was good to gain confidence.
“I don’t have a preference; they’re two beautiful clubs. My focus is on the World Cup right now and I don’t want to think about what happens afterwards.”
Chelsea FC are likely to be linked with a number of players this summer as the Blues look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The west London club struggled in Antonio Conte’s second campaign in charge, as they slumped to a fifth placed finish, before winning the FA Cup.
