Thibaut Courtois is not prepared to sign a new contract at Chelsea FC and he could join Real Madrid for free next summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish radio station Onda Cero, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the 25-year-old goalkeeper has no plans to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge but is happy to see out his current contract with the club.

That could mean that he becomes available on a free transfer next summer, with Real Madrid having been touted as a destination for the Belgium international in recent months.

The same report says that Courtois has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu once his contract at Chelsea FC expires next summer.

Should the claims be true, it would leave Chelsea FC in a difficult position of trying to decide whether to cash-in on Courtois this summer rather than risk losing the talent goalkeeper on a free transfer next year.

Meanwhile, Courtois will be expecting to start in goal for Chelsea FC when the Blues host Liverpool FC in their crunch Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are currently in fifth place and on course to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for next season.
