Olivier Giroud makes Chelsea FC plea to Eden Hazard
Olivier Giroud admits that he is desperate for Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea FC this summer
Olivier Giroud has admitted that he is desperate to see Eden Hazard stay at Chelsea FC beyond the summer transfer window.
The Belgian playmaker is widely regarded as one of the finest attacking talents in European football and he has helped Chelsea FC to win two Premier League titles since his move to the club from Lille back in 2012.
Hazard and his Chelsea FC team-mates are set to have to make do without Champions League football next season after the Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League this term.
The 27-year-old playmaker has long been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid touted as a possible destination for the attacker.
However, Giroud, who has been getting used to playing alongside Hazard since his January move to the club, admits that he wants the Belgian to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Giroud is quoted as saying by Metro: “Of course I want Eden to stay — who doesn’t want to play with him?
“I want to carry on working on our partnership. The two of us have only been playing together a short time but we have a good relationship on the field.
“We play close together because that’s what the manager wants us to do.”
Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table this season after having struggled to produce consistent form in Antonio Conte’s second campaign in charge.
The west London side are bound to bring in a host of new players this summer as they look to bolster their squad.
