Antonio Conte drops hint ahead of Chelsea FC v Huddersfield
Antonio Conte hints that he will rotate his squad for Chelsea FC's clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday
Antonio Conte has hinted that he will rotate his squad for their crunch clash against Huddersfield at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
The Blues boosted their hopes of finishing in the top four this season when they sealed a 1-0 win over Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday thanks to Olivier Giroud’s first half goal.
Chelsea FC know that victory over Huddersfield in front of their home fans on Wednesday will move them level on points with third place Liverpool FC, although the Reds do have a much superior goal difference.
And Conte has talked up the importance of Chelsea FC preparing for Wednesday’s game in the right way.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Conte said: “I don’t know if this will be enough at the end of the season but we have to try, and now we have to prepare in the right way for another tough game against Huddersfield.
“Today [Sunday] they drew against Manchester City, we want three points and I will probably make rotations because the players spent a lot of energy against Liverpool, but we must face the situation with great pride and we must show we are still alive.”
Chelsea FC are still aiming to try and finish the season on a high and they will aim to win the FA Cup when they take on Manchester United in the final at Wembley later this month.
The Blues have been in good form in recent weeks and they have won their last four Premier League games on the spin to keep their top-four hopes alive.
Chelsea FC reached the FA Cup final last season but they were beaten by Arsenal.
