The forward has been settling into his new surroundings at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the west London club from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Giroud proved the difference for Chelsea FC on Sunday when he scored the only goal of the game in the Blues’ 1-0 victory over Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge.
The French striker has netted three goals and made one assist in the Premier League for Chelsea FC and he has been keeping Alvaro Morata out of the team in recent weeks.
And Chelsea FC full-back Alonso has admitted that he and his team-mates have been thrilled by the way Giroud has been settling into life in west London.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Alonso said: “We know that he’s doing great things since he arrived.
“He’s giving everything on the pitch and we’re very happy for him and I hope he keeps scoring goals.”
Giroud will also be hoping to help Chelsea FC end the season with a trophy when they take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.
The Blues, who won the Premier League title last term, reached the final last season but they were beaten by Arsenal last May as they missed out on a domestic double.
