Reporter delivers update on Michy Batshuayi’s Chelsea FC future
Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur delivers the latest update on Michy Batshuayi's Chelsea FC future
Michy Batshuayi has a 50-50 chance of remaining as a Chelsea FC player beyond the summer, according to Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur.
The Belgian striker returned to Chelsea FC towards the end of the season after having spent the second half of the campaign on loan to German outfit Borussia Dortmund.
Batshuayi suffered a serious injury towards the end of his loan spell at Dortmund and he was subsequently sent back to Chelsea FC for treatment.
There have been suggestions that Dortmund are keen on signing the striker on a permanent deal this summer after his impressive but short stint at the club.
However, the forward’s future remains up in the air as the west London club begin to ponder their summer transfer plans ahead of next season.
Speaking to the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Terreur said: “It is 50-50. He would stay at Chelsea at a back up.
“If Dortmund make a bid of 50m euros, Chelsea might sell him and everybody will be happy.”
Chelsea FC are likely to be linked with a host of players this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Blues were in stuttering form this season as they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table in Antonio Conte’s second season in charge at the west London club.
