Chelsea FC could sell Alvaro Morata to Borussia Dortmund – report
Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Alvaro Morata from Chelsea FC this summer, say reports
Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Alvaro Morata from Chelsea FC this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Bundesliga club are targeting the 25-year-old Spain international after having failed to make their loan move for Chelsea FC star Michy Batshuayi permanent.
The same report suggests that Chelsea FC are indeed open to cashing in on Morata this summer, just a year after he joined the west London club from Real Madrid.
Morata has endured something of a mixed season at Chelsea FC. He started the campaign strongly but his form tailed off during the middle part of the season as he was hampered by a back injury.
The Spain international has scored 15 goals and made six assists in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s men, but it remains to be seen whether he will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
According to the same story, selling Morata would provide the funds Chelsea FC’s owners require to revamp their squad this summer.
Meanwhile, Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
