The striker has been a regular fixture in the first team since his move to Stamford Bridge and he has been keeping Alvaro Morata out of the starting line-up in recent weeks.
Giroud once again proved his worth to the Blues on Sunday afternoon when he scored the all-important winner in Chelsea FC’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old forward has brought a wealth of Premier League experience into the team at Stamford Bridge, and Conte has admitted that he has been delighted by the striker’s impact since his move to the west London club.
Speaking at a news conference at Cobham before the clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday night, Conte said of Giroud: “For sure it was a good signing for us.
“We are talking about a player with great experience, an international player. He’s played in many leagues, I think it’s a good signing for us and a good fit.
“He played a really good game against Liverpool, not just because of the goal, but because he worked very hard for the team with the ball and without the ball, so we must be very pleased with the signing.”
Chelsea FC are still aiming to try and finish the season on a high when they take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
The Blues are looking to go one step further than they did last season, when they were beaten by Arsenal in the final last May.
