Olivier Giroud opens up about his relationship with Eden Hazard at Chelsea FC this season
Olivier Giroud has talked up his understanding with Eden Hazard following his move to Chelsea FC in the January transfer window.
Giroud has been getting used to life at Stamford Bridge after his move to the west London club from Arsenal at the turn of the year and already seems to have struck up a good understanding with the Belgian.
The pair have been deployed up front together on a number of occasions, with Giroud having been preferred as the central striker ahead of Alvaro Morata by Antonio Conte.
The French striker will be hoping to develop a further understanding with Hazard in the coming seasons as they look to help Chelsea FC challenge for major trophies.
And Giroud has admitted that he has already been getting along well with Hazard since his move to the west London club from Arsenal.
Speaking in an interview with Metro, Giroud said: “Eden and I are good friends off the pitch as well.
“He is a nice person, he is easy to get along with. I knew him before I came to Chelsea.
“We fought for the title in France when I was at Montpellier and he was at Lille.
“I didn’t know him personally then but I never had any doubts that we would form a good understanding.”
Chelsea FC are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the Blues look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The west London side struggled to produce consistent form this term as they ended up in fifth place and missed out on Champions League qualification.
