Antonio Conte instructs Chelsea FC to try and sign Germany star Benjamin Henrichs from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, say reports
Antonio Conte has instructed Chelsea FC to try and sign Germany star Benjamin Henrichs from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Conte wants to see the Blues wrap up a deal for the 21-year-old despite the uncertainty about his future at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
According to the same report, both Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in signing the defender this summer but the Blues are now lining up a bid.
It is claimed that the west London side are ready to make a move to try and bring Henrichs to Stamford Bridge, with the player believed to have a £31m release clause in his current contract with the German side.
The defender has made 22 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season and has notched up one assist for his team-mates.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League showdown against Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues are aiming to try and break back into the top four before the season is out and they will need to beat the Reds at Stamford Bridge if they are to have any hope of doing so.
