Paul Merson claims Chelsea FC have already agreed to sell key player to Real Madrid
The Arsenal legend believes Chelsea FC have already agreed to sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer
Paul Merson believes Chelsea FC have agreed to sell Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea FC are in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points behind third-placed Liverpool FC ahead of their meeting at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The defending Premier League champions are facing speculation surrounding Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international has been linked with a potential move to La Liga and Champions League holders Real Madrid.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes the Blues have already reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sell Hazard.
“The Hazard deal is probably done already. Real Madrid need to go special. He ticks boxes if Bale isn’t there,” Merson told Sky Sports.
Hazard has scored 12 goals and has made three assist in 29 games in the Premier League this season.
The Blues haven’t won the Champions League since 2012 and lost 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the round of 16.
The Belgian forward has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup since his move to the west London side from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2012.
Hazard netted 16 times in 38 appearances in Chelsea FC’s title-winning campaign in 2014-15 to win the PFA player of the year award.
Chelsea FC will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month after a 2-0 win over Southampton in the semi-finals.
