Chelsea FC want Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann as Antonio Conte's successor in the summer, according to a report
Chelsea FC are considering the potential appointment of Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann as Antonio Conte’s successor in the summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Blues are looking at the 30-year-old head coach as a replacement for Conte ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.
The same article states that Nagelsmann could be a more attainable target for Chelsea FC, who have also been linked with Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri.
According to the same story, the German head coach has a clause in his current contract that won’t kick in until the end of next season.
Liverpool FC supporters will be aware of Nagelsmann after the Reds were 6-4 aggregate winners against Hoffenheim in their Champions League playoff at the start of the season.
He became the youngest manager in Bundesliga history when he took charge of Hoffeheim at the age of 28 following a serious knee injury in his playing career.
Nagelsmann led Hoffeheim into the Champions League for the first time, while the German club are on course to finish in the top four in the Bundesliga in successive seasons.
Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last nine games following seven victories and two stalemates.
