Antonio Conte has endured a difficult second season at Stamford Bridge despite winning the Premier League title last term.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and 30 points adrift of champions Manchester City in the current campaign.
The west London side managed to end the season on a positive note after Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
The Blues manager has been linked with a potential exit after falling out with the Blues board over transfers in the past 12 months.
Enrique has been linked with a potential appointment at Chelsea FC given the uncertainty surrounding Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge.
Scottish football reporter Castles believes Enrique is the leading contender to become the next manager at the west London side.
“I think Enrique is favourite for the job,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“I can’t tell you for certain he has the job but there are several indicators in the background.”
Chelsea FC signed Everton star Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
The Blues won the Premier League and the FA Cup in their two seasons under Conte following his appointment as Guus Hiddink’s replacement.
