The France international has been one of Chelsea FC’s standout players in the Premier League in an otherwise disappointing defence of their title.
Kante helped to inspire Leicester City to the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season alongside Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.
Chelsea FC signed Kante in a £34m deal from Leicester in the 2016 summer transfer window and the holding midfielder became a key Blues star.
The 26-year-old was instrumental in Chelsea FC’s title success in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge of the west London outfit.
Kante got his hands on his third major trophy in English football last weekend after the Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin believes it won’t be long before FC Barcelona and Real Madrid show an interest if Kante continues to perform.
“If I was Real Madrid or Barcelona, yes I’d be looking at Hazard, but I’d be looking closer at Kante,” Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He never gives anything less than 9 out of 10.”
Chelsea FC finished the Premier League season with a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Blues ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second time in three seasons.
