Cristiano Ronaldo takes to social media to wish Sir Alex Ferguson all the best after he underwent emergency brain surgery
Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social media to wish Sir Alex Ferguson a speedy recovery after the former Manchester United manager underwent emergency brain surgery on Saturday.
The former Red Devils boss had to undergoing emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage over the weekend and is now recovering from the procedure.
The 76-year-old had looked in good spirits as he greeted Arsene Wenger at Old Trafford last weekend following the Arsenal manager’s decision to step down at the end of the season.
Ferguson is now recovering in intensive care at Salford Royal hospital after having fallen ill at home and then having the operation on Saturday.
Ronaldo was signed by Ferguson as an 18-year-old in 2003 and the Real Madrid superstar was quick to take to social media to pay tribute to his former manager after learning of the news on Saturday.
The 33-year-old posted the picture below on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “My thoughts and prayers are with you, my dear friend. Be strong, Boss!”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are still looking to secure second place in the Premier League this season despite their disappointing defeat by Brighton on Friday night.
