Eden Hazard sends message to Chelsea FC stars ahead of next season
Eden Hazard calls on his Chelsea FC team-mates to show the mentality needed to win the Premier League next season
Eden Hazard has called on his Chelsea FC team-mates to reproduce the mentality they showed in the FA Cup final throughout next season.
The Belgian playmaker was the difference for Chelsea FC as he scored the only goal of the game in the first half against Manchester United to hand them a 1-0 win at Wembley on Saturday as the Blues ended the season on a high by winning a trophy.
Chelsea FC have struggled to find consistency this season and they ended up in a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table as they missed out on qualification for the Champions League.
The west London side are likely to make a number of new signings this summer as they bid to assemble a team capable of winning the title next season.
And the 27-year-old Hazard admits that Chelsea FC will need to improve their mentality throughout the campaign if they want to challenge for the major honours next term.
Hazard told the Evening Standard: “It is always hard to win the League one season and then win it again the next year.
“Can winning the FA Cup in the last game be taken into the start of next season? Yes, of course.
“Some of us are playing in the World Cup but we need the mentality we showed against Manchester United for next season. Okay we don’t play in the Champions League but last year we didn’t play in it and won the League.”
Hazard’s future is likely to be a source of uncertainty this summer after Chelsea FC missed out on Champions League qualification.
The Blues are sure to be linked with some big names this summer as they bid to try and regain the title next season.
