Eden Hazard reveals the impact Jose Mourinho had on him at Chelsea FC
Eden Hazard discusses how Jose Mourinho helped to get the best out of him at Chelsea FC
Eden Hazard believes that the tactical freedom given to him by Jose Mourinho helped him to improve at Chelsea FC.
Hazard was voted as the PFA player of the year in the 2014-15 campaign as he helped to inspire Chelsea FC to a Premier League and League Cup double in Mourinho’s second stint in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old has since won the Premier League again and the FA Cup this season after six years at the west London club.
There had been suggestions that Hazard and Mourinho had fallen out before the Portuguese coach ended up being sacked by Chelsea FC in December 2015.
However, Hazard has revealed that the freedom given to him by the Portuguese coach helped to bring out his best form.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport, Hazard said: “He [Mourinho] gave me confidence on the pitch.
“He just put me on the pitch and told me to show what I can do.”
Chelsea FC beat Mourinho’s Manchester United side 1-0 in the FA Cup final earlier this month as they ended what was a disappointing campaign on a positive note.
The Blues slumped to a fifth placed finish in the Premier League as they missed out on a spot in the Champions League for next season.
Chelsea FC will likely be linked with a host of players this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next term.
