Emre Can’s chances of playing in Liverpool FC v Real Madrid slim – report
Liverpool FC star Emre Can is losing his battle to be fit for the Champions League final, say reports
Emre Can is losing his battle to be fit for Liverpool FC’s Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the midfielder is still undergoing treatment in Germany after picking up a back injury in March.
The 24-year-old Germany international has not featured for the Reds since the 5-0 win over Watford on 17 March and he underwent a scan on Monday to determine his progress.
However, the same report says that the results of the scan were “inconclusive” and the midfielder will now undergo further tests before he can return to training.
The midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, will naturally be desperate to prove his fitness in the lead-up to the Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid on 26 May.
However, the same story says that Can will remain in his native Germany until next week at the earliest, meaning that he would have just two weeks to prove his fitness to Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League final.
Liverpool FC will look to book their place in the top four for this season by avoiding defeat against Brighton at Anfield in their final Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.
