The Gunners signed the France international in a £52m club record deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Lacazette scored on his Arsenal debut in a thrilling 4-3 win against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the season.
The France striker was in prolific form in the opening two months of the campaign but manager Arsene Wenger used his summer signing sparingly.
Lacazette struggled during the festive period before Arsenal smashed their club record once again in the January transfer window.
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a £56m switch earlier this year to push Lacazette down the pecking order.
However, the Gunners star has netted seven times in his last eight games in all competitions to hit form in the final months of the season.
Former Arsenal defender Groves delivered his verdict on Lacazette’s first campaign at the north London club.
“I think Lacazette started off well for Arsenal and he has come back into it recently,” Groves told sportingbet.
“He’s scored 14 Premier League goals in his debut year, despite a few niggles, so I think it has been a reasonable season.
“I think we’ll see a far better player next year because he’s physically strong enough to cope with the demands of the Premier League and his movement is excellent.”
Arsenal lost 2-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend to lose for the tenth time on the road this term.
The Gunners will finish outside the top-four places for the second successive season under Wenger, who is set to stand down at the end of the campaign.
