Michael Owen states his prediction for Huddersfield v Arsenal
The Liverpool FC legend is backing Arsenal to beat Huddersfield Town at John Smith's Stadium on Sunday
Michael Owen is backing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to get on the score sheet in Arsenal’s clash against Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
The Gunners will be looking to end Arsene Wenger’s reign on a high note as the Frenchman takes of charge of his final Arsenal fixture after 22 seasons.
The north London side suffered a 3-1 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium mid-week to culminate in their 11th defeat on the road this term.
Arsenal will be taking on a Huddersfield side that have drawn with Chelsea FC and Premier League champions Manchester City in their last two fixtures.
The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Aubameyang has netted eight times and has made four assists in his last 10 appearances in all competitions.
Former Liverpool FC striker is tipping Aubameyang to get on the score sheet against Huddersfield at John Smith’s Stadium.
“Arsene Wenger’s last game in charge of Arsenal and he will be desperate for at least a point at the John Smith’s Stadium given – following the midweek loss at Leicester – the Gunners have now lost their last seven top-flight away games for the first time since 1966,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Arsenal remain the only side in the top four tiers of English football yet to pick up an away point this calendar year and Huddersfield are likely to play a more attacking game – now that their Premier Leaue status is guaranteed – after two brave and resilient defensive performances at the Etihad and Stamford Bridge in the last week.”
Aubameyang has scored nine times in 12 games in the Premier League since his club record £56m move to Arsenal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
The Gunners striker has forged an excellent partnership with Alexandre Lacazette in the Arsenal team since his big-money switch.
