Paul Merson is backing Arsenal to beat Huddersfield Town in their final Premier League game under Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners have a miserable record on the road in the Premier League this season to limit their ability to challenge for a top-four finish.

Arsenal lost 3-1 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium mid-week to amount to their eleventh defeat of the season on the road in the Premier League.

Only Brighton, Swansea City, West Brom and Stoke City have a worse Premier League record than Arsenal in the 2017-18 season.

The north London outfit will finish in sixth place in the Premier League table but the Gunners will want to see out Wenger’s reign in a fitting manner.

Arsenal will take on a Huddersfield side that secured draws against Chelsea FC and Premier League champions Manchester City in their last two Premier League games.

Former Gunners star Merson is backing Arsenal to beat Huddersfield in their final Premier League fixture.

“Huddersfield are safe now but Arsenal have to finish with at least a point here, otherwise it’d be embarrassing in Arsene Wenger’s final game. It’s unbelievable they haven’t got a point away this year,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“Huddersfield have worked their socks off in the last two games – I can’t think there’d be much left in the tank – so I’m tipping Wenger to sign off with a win.”

Arsenal have missed out on a top-four finish for the second successive season under Wenger.

The Gunners lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley earlier this season.

The north London outfit haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04.
