Mark Lawrenson is tipping Arsene Wenger’s final game in charge of Arsenal against Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon to end in a 1-1 draw.

Wenger is set to step down at the end of the season after almost 22 years in charge of the north London club.

The Gunners suffered yet another away Premier League defeat on Wednesday night when they were beaten 3-1 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal are on course to finish in sixth place in the Premier League table in what looks set to be another disappointing campaign for Wenger’s men.

It means that the Gunners are set to have to settle for another season without Champions League football.

And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson feels that the north London side’s season is going to end with a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Am I surprised that Arsenal win 5-0 at home and then follow that by losing 3-1 at Leicester? No, not at all.

“The Gunners are still the only team in the top four tiers of English football not to have earned a single point on the road in 2018, although I do think that will change on Sunday.

“There is no way Huddersfield will play with the same intensity now they are safe, and a more open game will suit Arsene Wenger’s side in his final game in charge.”

Arsenal are yet to confirm who will take over from Wenger at the club ahead of next season.

The north London club are expected to make an announcement about their next manager before the start of this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
