Craig Burley has insisted that Liverpool FC will beat Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds need to avoid a loss to Chris Hughton’s side to be assured of a Champions League spot next term following an impressive season.

Liverpool FC lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge last weekend to give the Blues renewed hope of securing a Champions League spot.

However, Antonio Conte’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners against Brighton in the reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium earlier this season.

Former Chelsea FC defender Burley has backed the Reds to get the job done against Brighton.

“Brighton at home,” Burley told ESPN FC. “You’re safe. You win. You’re goal difference is huge.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Sevilla in the Europa League final in 2015 in Klopp’s first full season in charge.

The Merseyside outfit haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

Liverpool FC are looking to win the Champions League title for the first time since 2005.
