The Reds are in pole position to secure a top-four spot ahead of Chelsea FC thanks to their superior goal difference.
However, Liverpool FC will still need to beat Brighton to be assured of Champions League football next term.
The Reds have failed to win their last four Premier League games following stalemates with Everton, Stoke City and West Brom.
However, Klopp has fielded his second string before reverting to his strongest team for their 1-0 loss at Chelsea FC last weekend.
The Merseyside outfit have the small matter of a clash against current holders Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev later this month.
However, former Liverpool FC striker Aldridge warned the Reds about putting out their best team for the Champions League final in Kiev.
“We’ve started dropping points and lost our last two games, and that does affect confidence a bit,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.
“We haven’t had a run like that all season, and for it not to become a problem we just have to get the job done against Brighton.
“I’d expect Jurgen Klopp to go strong on Sunday, primarily because he hasn’t really got any other choice.
“We don’t have a backup plan, we don’t have enough players, particularly in midfield. Ben Woodburn could do a job, but not at this stage of the season.”
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but are making progress under Klopp.
The German head coach has guided Liverpool FC to three finals in three seasons but the Reds lost to Manchester City and Sevilla in the League Cup and Europa League showpieces.
