Pat Nevin states prediction for Liverpool FC v Brighton
The Chelsea FC legend is hoping Brighton can cause an upset at Liverpool FC on Sunday
Pat Nevin has spoken of his optimism that Brighton can raise themselves to beat Liverpool FC on Sunday.
The Reds will host Brighton in their final Premier League game of the current campaign with a place in the top four up for grabs.
Indeed, Liverpool FC lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC last season to leave the door ajar for the Blues to finish in the top four.
The Merseyside outfit are in third place in the table and three points ahead of Chelsea FC ahead of the final day.
The Reds have a far superior goal difference but will need to beat Brighton to be assured of Champions League football next term.
The 18-time English champions finished in the top four last term thanks to a 3-0 win over Swansea City on the final day of the season.
Brighton were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at the Amex Stadium last Friday to spring a surprise against the FA Cup finalists.
Former Chelsea FC star Nevin is hopeful that Brighton can cause an upset at Anfield and do Chelsea FC a favour this weekend.
“When you consider that Spurs lost to West Brom and Man United lost to Brighton, it once again makes you think that maybe, just maybe, Brighton could raise themselves again at Anfield and do us a favour,” Nevin told Chelsea FC’s website. “Let’s hope so!”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
