Steve Nichol is adamant that Liverpool FC will beat Brighton and Hove Albion to secure a top-four finish on Sunday.

The Reds will welcome Chris Hughton’s side to Anfield in their final Premier League fixture of the 2017-18 season.

Liverpool FC need a point against the Seagulls to be assured of Champions League football for the second successive campaign.

The Merseyside outfit lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC last weekend to give the Blues some hope of pipping their bitter rivals to a top-four spot.

However, Chelsea FC were unable to secure three points in their game in hand following a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.

Liverpool FC eased to a resounding 5-0 win against Brighton at the Amex Stadium earlier in the Premier League campaign.

Former Liverpool FC defender Nichol is backing the Reds to beat the Seagulls to secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.

“If you can’t beat Brighton at home on the last day of the season to get in the Champions League…. I don’t see how Liverpool don’t do it,” Nichol told ESPN.

“A big game on a big day: Liverpool will turn up.”

The Merseyside outfit haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015 after a successful spell at Borussia Dortmund.
