Graeme Souness has warned Liverpool FC that they must go out with the mindset to win at all costs against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds have left the door slightly ajar for fifth-placed Chelsea FC following 1-0 loss to Antonio Conte’s side at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Liverpool FC have seen their Premier League form take a hit in recent weeks following their run to the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side drew with Stoke City, Everton and West Brom before a 1-0 loss to 2017 Premier League winners Chelsea FC.

The Reds will take on La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final later this month following a 7-6 aggregate win against AS Roma.

Liverpool FC are two points ahead of Chelsea FC and need to avoid a loss to Brighton to be assured of fourth place.

Former Liverpool FC captain Souness offered the Reds some advice ahead of their home clash against Brighton at Anfield on Sunday.

“They have to beat Brighton,” Souness told Sky Sports. “They have to think worst case scenario – the other teams winning.

“It is inevitable they will have one eye on the Champions League. They need to park it and refocus on the Brighton game.”

Klopp’s side were 5-2 winners against AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final before a 4-2 loss to the Italian giants in Rome.

Liverpool FC signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window.
