Pat Nevin has hailed Liverpool FC star James Milner as an “astonishing” player.

The 32-year-old has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s most-impressive stars under the German head coach.

Milner has thrived in the Liverpool FC team since Philippe Coutinho’s £142m move to FC Barcelona from Liverpool FC in January.

The retired England international has impressed in the Merseyside outfit’s victories over FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma in the Champions League.

Milner could win the Champions League for the first time in his career if the Reds manage to beat current holders Real Madrid in the final in Kiev.

Former Chelsea FC star Nevin lavished praise on Milner ahead of Liverpool FC’s home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day of the season.

“As an all around player, the last number of years, professionalism and attitude,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk. “He has been astonishing.”

Milner spent the 2016-17 playing at left-back following Alberto Moreno’s erratic performances in the unorthodox full-back role.

The retired England international won two Premier League titles at Manchester City under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini.

The Liverpool FC star moved to the Anfield outfit in a free transfer from Manchester City in the 2015 summer transfer window.
