Roberto Firmino raves about Liverpool FC duo ahead of AS Roma clash
The Liverpool FC star heaps praise on Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah
Roberto Firmino has heaped praise on Liverpool FC’s exceptional duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Brazil international signed a new long-term contract with the Merseyside outfit on Sunday afternoon to end speculation surrounding his future following reported interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Firmino is one part of Liverpool FC’s impressive attacking trio after the Reds scored an incredible 80 times in 36 games in the Premier League this season to challenge for a top-four spot.
The 26-year-old scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 5-2 win against AS Roma in the first leg after Salah had netted two goals in the first half before Mane got on the score sheet at Anfield.
Firmino netted in both legs of Liverpool FC’s 5-1 victory over the Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals to set up a last-four meeting with Salah’s former club AS Roma.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website about his attacking team-mates, Firmino said:
“Exceptional, both of them. They are excellent footballers with a lot of quality and I am grateful to play beside them. The whole team is doing a very good job on the pitch and everything is coming together in the correct manner.”
The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to top-four rivals Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge next weekend.
Liverpool FC are looking to qualify for the Champions League in successive seasons under German head coach Jurgen Klopp.
