Danny Murphy believes Liverpool FC will be able to reflect on an incredible season if the Reds finish in the top four and win the Champions League.

The Merseyside outfit are two points ahead of Chelsea FC in the Premier League table in the race to finish in the Champions League spots.

Liverpool FC lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge last weekend to hand the momentum to the Blues in the top-four race.

However, the Merseyside outfit were handed a boost after the Blues failed to beat Huddersfield Town in their game in hand mid-week.

Liverpool FC will secure fourth spot if the Reds manage to avoid a loss to Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will take on La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev following their 7-6 aggregate win against AS Roma in the last four.

Former Liverpool FC star Murphy believes the Reds are on the brink of an outstanding campaign under Jurgen Klopp.

Murphy told the Evening Standard: “If Liverpool can win and finish in the top four, it would be an incredible achievement. Especially for Jurgen Klopp.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds have won the Champions League title in 2005 thanks to a penalty shootout victory over AC Milan.
