The 32-year-old has played a vital role in the Liverpool FC team since the Reds opted to sell Brazil international Philippe Coutinho to La Liga giants FC Barcelona in a £142m deal in the January transfer window.
Milner, alongside Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, was instrumental in Liverpool FC’s 5-1 aggregate win against Premier League title holders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The veteran midfielder was hailed as one of Liverpool FC’s best performers in their 5-2 win against AS Roma in the first leg of their semi-finals despite conceding a penalty due to a handball.
Milner had to be at his tenacious best in the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico as Jurgen Klopp’s side hung on for a 7-6 aggregate win following a 4-2 loss to AS Roma on Wednesday night.
Liverpool FC will take on current holders Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev later this month.
Former Reds captain Redknapp raved about Milner’s performance under Klopp this season following their European exploits.
“James Milner has been a revelation this season,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “It makes you think – would you bring him back to the England squad? I’ve never seen Milner play better, he’s in the form of his life.
“With Oxlade-Chamberlain out, we haven’t got lots of central midfield players. But he’s in great form, the best form he’s ever been in. He’s been a top performer in the Champions League, in terms of assists.”
Liverpool FC signed Milner in a free transfer from Manchester City in 2015.
