Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his delight that Liverpool FC have secured Champions League football for another season after the Reds finished in fourth place last term.

Liverpool FC had to beat Brighton and Hove Albion in their final Premier League fixture to be assured of a top-four finish ahead of deposed champions Chelsea FC.

The Reds were 4-0 winners against the Seagulls courtesy of goal from Mohamed Salah, Dejan Lovren, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot and five points ahead of Chelsea FC following their comfortable 4-0 victory over Hughton’s men.

The 18-time English champions are in the Champions League final in Kiev after a dramatic 7-6 aggregate win against Serie A giants AS Roma in the semi-finals.

Alexander-Arnold has been ever present in the Liverpool FC side in the Champions League knockout phase to earn rave reviews for his performances against FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma.

The Liverpool FC starlet is excited to pit himself against Europe’s best players for the second successive season.

“We had to get the win. That’s what we came out to do and that’s what we’ve done. A 4-0 win is not a bad send-off at Anfield and it gives us momentum going into Kiev now,” Alexander-Arnold told the club’s website.

“We have worked hard for it all season. We’ve enjoyed the Champions League nights – this is where the club belongs. To secure the Champions League again is massive. We have done it again for next season and hopefully we’ll get as far as we have this season.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds will take on current holders Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.
