The Reds signed the Netherlands international in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit made Van Dijk the most expensive defender in the world following his club record switch to Liverpool FC.
Liverpool FC are in the Champions League final after a staggering 7-6 loss to AS Roma in the last four of Europe’s premier club competition.
The 18-time English champions will take on current holders Real Madrid in the European showpiece in Kiev later this month.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website about his move to the five-time European champions, Van Dijk said:
“I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Working with these guys is just a joy.
“Playing in front of these fans, with this atmosphere, is something special. Hopefully it can be like that for a long time.”
Liverpool FC finished the Premier League campaign in fourth place in the table and five points ahead of Chelsea FC.
The Reds haven’t won the European crown since 2005 when Liverpool FC beat AC Milan on penalties.
The Merseyside outfit have beaten FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma in the Champions League knockout stage.
Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day of the Premier League campaign to end the season on a high note.
