Gary Neville is waiting to see whether Mohamed Salah can continue his “freak” form from this season next term with Liverpool FC.

The Egypt international has been earning huge amounts of praise for his stunning form for the Reds since his transfer from AS Roma to Anfield last summer.

Salah has scored a remarkable 43 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men to help them up into third place in the Premier League table and through to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

His form for Liverpool FC this term has been nothing short of amazing, and he was voted as the PFA player of the year by his colleagues last month.

The step-up in form has been extremely dramatic following his quiet spell at Chelsea FC before his move to AS Roma a few years ago.

And former Manchester United defender Neville has admitted that he is excited to see whether Salah will be able to continue his fine form for the Reds next season.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Neville said: “I want to understand whether this is an absolute freak.

“I watched him back at Basel and at Chelsea and his stats were getting better, but this season has been a jump from nowhere. Where has it come from?

“You normally see them growing and to me it’s the most intriguing thing about next season. Is he a 20-goal a season man, which is still a really good player, or is he going to be mentioned in the same light as Messi and Ronaldo?

“If he goes on to score 43 next season and 40 the year after then he gets into those Messi and Ronaldo numbers.”

Salah will be expecting to line up for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with their crunch showdown against AS Roma in the second leg of their semi-final tie.
