Guillem Balague has claimed that Liverpool FC have “no chance” of signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Reds are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Jurgen Klopp looks to assemble a team capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the Premier League next season.

Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the table but they are likely to have funds to spend this summer following the big-money sale of Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona back in January.

Griezmann’s future at Atletico Madrid has been a constant source of speculation in recent seasons, and he was heavily linked with Manchester United last summer before he opted to stay at the Spanish side.

Balague was asked by one user during his Sky Sports Q&A whether Griezmann could be set to sign for Liverpool FC this summer.

And the Spanish football expert gave a blunt reply, saying: “No – no chance”.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their trip to Chelsea FC in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they bid to finish in the top four this term.

The Reds head into that game on the back of having secured their place in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
