Gary Neville lavishes praise on Andy Robertson after Liverpool FC's 4-0 win over Brighton on Sunday afternoon
Gary Neville lavished praise on Andy Robertson after the defender helped to fire Liverpool FC to a 4-0 win over Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The victory secured their place in the top four this season and guaranteed their spot in the Champions League for next term.
Mohamed Salah gave the home side the lead in the 26th minute at Anfield, before Dejan Lovren made it 2-0 shortly before half-time.
Dominic Solanke made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute, before Robertson capped a fine first campaign at Liverpool FC with a close-range finish five minutes from full time.
Robertson signed for Liverpool FC from Hull City last summer and Neville admits that he has been forced to reassess the defender following his brilliant impact this season.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville said: “I questioned this lad at the start of the season, was he going to be good enough? Was he going to be someone who could improve a Liverpool defence who leaked goals?
“Well, he’s been brilliant this season. We knew he was good going forward and he’s done well going the other way too.
“That goals caps it off for him in this Premier League season.”
The victory left Liverpool FC in fourth place in the Premier League table as they now prepare for their Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid at the end of the month.
The Reds are seeking to win their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp following his appointment back in October 2015.
