Tony Cascarino is convinced that Liverpool FC have what it takes to beat Brighton and secure their place in the top four this season.

The Reds suffered a blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four this season when they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon to leave the Merseyside outfit needing the three points against Brighton to guarantee their spot in the Champions League next term.

Chelsea FC will move level on points with Liverpool FC if the Blues win their game in hand against Huddersfield at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Liverpool FC will be keen to get the job done and beat Brighton on Sunday to secure their spot in the top four before turning their attentions towards the Champions League final clash against Real Madrid in Kiev at the end of the month.

And Cascarino feels that the Reds are not going to have any problems against Brighton this weekend as they look to end the season on a positive note.

Writing in his column for the Times, Cascarino said: “Liverpool should be able to beat Brighton to secure their Champions League place.

“They do not want to be relying on winning the tournament to be in it next year.”

Olivier Giroud scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea FC claimed the three points against the Reds on Sunday.
