The Brazil international was confirmed as a Liverpool FC player on Sunday evening after the Reds reached an agreement to sign him from Monaco, with the midfielder set to officially join the Premier League club on 1 July.
Fabinho had long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and he had been touted as a target for the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal in the past.
Liverpool FC have been earning a reputation as one of European football’s most exciting teams to watch under Jurgen Klopp in recent seasons.
And Fabinho, 24, has expressed his delight at having agreed a move to the Premier League for the first time in his career.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Fabinho said: “I am very happy. I am really excited about this move.
“This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional.
“I look forward to the time and the day I’ll put the shirt on and get on the pitch and see how the supporters welcome my arrival.”
Liverpool FC are likely to be on the lookout for further reinforcements this summer as the Reds look to put together a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
Fabinho’s move to the club comes as Emre Can looks set to leave the Merseyside outfit on a free transfer this summer.
