Jurgen Klopp has insisted that there is no news about Emre Can’s Liverpool FC contract situation ahead of the Champions League final.
The 24-year-old midfielder’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months due to the fact that his current contract expires at the end of this season.
There has been no official announcement about Can’s future and he is yet to sign a new deal with the Reds, meaning that he could end up leaving Liverpool FC on a free transfer.
Can has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus and his future remains up in the air ahead of the Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid this weekend.
And Klopp has insisted that there is not yet any news about Can’s situation ahead of the Champions League final this weekend.
Asked about Can’s contract situation, Klopp told a news conference on Monday: “No clue. [That’s] not important in the moment, to be honest.
“In this moment, he is 100 per cent here and that is the only thing I’m interested in. Anything else, I really have no idea but that’s not important to me at the moment.”
Liverpool FC head into their Champions League final showdown looking to end the season on a high after having secured a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League.
The Reds have been in fine form in Europe’s elite club competition this season, beating the likes of Manchester City, FC Porto and AS Roma en route to the final.
