The shot-stopper was at fault for two of Real Madrid’s three goals in Kiev as the Reds slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Spanish side in the final at the weekend.
The Reds ended up losing to Zinedine Zidane’s side, who ended up winning the Champions League for the third season running.
Karius had been in decent form for the Reds in the lead-up to the final after initially being criticised for some shaky displays for Liverpool FC in the early days of his career.
However, his two errors ended up handing Real Madrid the Champions League trophy as it left Jurgen Klopp’s men still searching for their first piece of silverware under the German manager.
But his fellow Liverpool FC goalkeeper Mignolet has insisted that he will be there to offer Karius advice as he looks to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing performance.
Mignolet is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I know how it is. You need a bit of time. The good thing about this final is that he will have the summer to take it and go forward.
“If he wants to talk then of course I will be there. Every goalkeeper can relate to him.
“I’ve been in this situation before myself and those kind of things you deal with yourself.
“The only thing I told him is that there is a reason we got to this final, and why we played in this final, so think about that.
“But of course it is very difficult to say anything to him and to let him grasp it.
“He’s only young. I’m sure he will (bounce back). I think we have all the tools at Liverpool as well to help him with that.”
Attentions will now inevitably turn towards the summer transfer window as the Reds ponder bringing in a new goalkeeper ahead of next season.
