Jurgen Klopp has warned his Liverpool FC stars that they cannot afford to lose focus as they prepare for their crunch clash against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds suffered a setback in their bid to finish in the top four this season when they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

That result means that Chelsea FC could move level on points with Liverpool FC if they win their game in hand against Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

However, Liverpool FC’s fate is still in their own hands, and the Reds will secure their spot in the Champions League for next season if they beat Brighton at Anfield in front of their home fans on Sunday.

And Klopp is confident that his side have what it takes to get the job done against Brighton this weekend.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Reds boss Klopp said: “It’s my life, it’s our life, that we always make it a little bit more exciting.

“We had these situations a few times and it will be, for sure, exciting because Brighton is in a good moment, they played fantastic against [Manchester] United.

“But it’s all OK, as long as we have it in our own hands, life is good.

“We still have to take it then but we will try everything.”

Liverpool FC will then turn their attentions towards their crunch showdown against Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev on 26 May.

The Reds are looking to win their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October 2015.
