Frank Lampard raves about Liverpool FC after setting up Real Madrid clash
Frank Lampard salutes Liverpool FC after the Reds reach the Champions League final
Frank Lampard saluted Liverpool FC for their impressive run to the Champions League final after setting up a showdown with Real Madrid later this month.
The Reds booked their place in the final in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night despite suffering a 4-2 loss to AS Roma in the return leg of their semi-final clash in Italy.
Liverpool FC ended up progressing to the final of Europe’s elite club competition thanks to a 7-6 aggregate victory over the Serie A side as they secured their place against Real Madrid on Saturday 26 May.
The Merseyside outfit will now be hoping to go all the way in the competition as they bid to try and win the trophy for a sixth time and lift their first piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp.
And Chelsea FC legend Lampard has been extremely impressed by what he has seen from Liverpool FC in recent weeks on their way towards reaching the final of Europe’s elite club competition.
Speaking to BT Sport after Wednesday’s game, Lampard said: “They did brilliantly.
“That last 45 minutes was hard work and it doesn’t always go your way at this level. A team with nothing to lose threw everything at them.
“This Liverpool team has grown under Jurgen Klopp. They need to enjoy this moment and they’ve got a great chance now because they’ve developed so much as a team.”
Liverpool FC must now switch their focus back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Chelsea FC in the top flight on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are currently third in the top flight table.
