The goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield in recent months and is now firmly behind Loris Karius at the Merseyside club.
Karius helped Liverpool FC to book their place in the Champions League final against Real Madrid last week and Mignolet has not featured for the first team since the 3-2 loss to West Brom in the FA Cup back in January.
It remains to be seen whether Mignolet will stay at Anfield to fight for his spot in the first team or if he will seek a move away from Liverpool FC this summer.
Now, the goalkeeper himself has admitted that he is unsure what the future holds for him beyond the summer transfer window as he prepares to represent Belgium at the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking to Belgian media, Mignolet said: “I don’t know what the future holds for me.
“I have three years left on my contract at Liverpool. Of course I want to play. The coach knows that, and I have talked about it with him. I will think about my future after the World Cup.
“I keep focused, just in case. An injury, a suspension, anything can happen and change the course of a season. I stay professional in order to be ready.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch showdown against Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are aiming to finish in the top four this season before switching their attentions towards the Champions League final against Real Madrid at the end of the month.
