The Egypt international has been one of European football’s top performing players this season and has been widely praised for his displays under Jurgen Klopp for the Reds.
Salah has scored a staggering 43 goals in all competitions this season and he took his Premier League tally to 32 by netting in the 4-0 win over Brighton at Anfield on Sunday.
The 25-year-old was handed the golden boot award after the Reds’ final home game of the season on Sunday after a sparkling debut campaign at Anfield.
Salah was also voted as the PFA player of the year by his fellow colleagues following his stunning first season at Liverpool FC.
And Kane, who was Salah’s closest challenger for the golden boot award, has congratulated the Egyptian and says that he fully deserves his prize.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Kane said: “It’s good to have competition and it’s great for the Premier League to have two players at the 30-goal mark.
“For me, it was a target to improve on last year, when I got 29, and it was nice to get to that 30-goal mark.
“Mo has done great this year, he deserves it, he deserves the Golden Boot. I am looking forward to the competition again next season.
“I haven’t seen Mo to talk with him. But this is what you want at the highest level – you want to be fighting for things and I think we pushed each other.
“He broke the record for a 38-game season and that is what I will try to do next season.”
Salah will now turn his attentions towards helping Liverpool FC to end the season on a brilliant note by winning the Champions League.
The Reds will take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev at the end of the month.
