Mohamed Salah reveals his delight at having won the Premier League golden boot with Liverpool FC
Mohamed Salah has revealed his delight at having won the Premier League golden boot with Liverpool FC this season.
The Egypt international has been one of European football’s top performing players this season since having joined the Reds from AS Roma last summer.
Salah has scored a staggering 43 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men and he also netted 32 times in the Premier League to secure his status as the country’s leading scorer.
The 25-year-old was also voted as the PFA player of the year following his brilliant performances for Liverpool FC to help the Reds finish fourth in the Premier League table.
Salah will now be hoping to help the Reds finish on a high by beating Real Madrid in the Champions League final at the end of the month.
And the Egypt international was delighted to get his hands on the golden boot trophy for this season.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on Sunday, Salah said: “This is very special.
“It’s always in my mind to help the team to win games, now we are in the Champions League next year and I have won the award, so I am very proud.
“I am trying to improve every year so I am very happy. It’s special to break the record here.”
Liverpool FC now have just under two weeks to prepare for the Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid in Kiev at the end of the month.
The Reds have not yet won a trophy under Klopp since his appointment in 2015.
